David Edward ClarkMarch 3, 1936 ~ September 29, 2017 (age 81)
Age 81 of Wheelersburg, passed away on Friday, September 29, 2017 at Our Lady of Bellefonte in Ashland, KY. He was born in Portsmouth on March 3, 1936 to Lawson and Elora (Jenkins) Clark. David was a 1955 Portsmouth High School graduate. A steel worker for Empire Detroit Steel, he retired in 1982 after working for the company for 26 years. David was an avid history enthusiast, especially of WWII. He enjoyed model trains, making model ships, and was a wonderful woodworker. In addition to these interests, he loved to paint, and used to hunt and fish. He loved to read, especially the Bible, and attended Porter Free Will Baptist Church. More than anything else, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Grice Clark; sons, Larry (Tina) Clark, Timothy Clark, Bruce (Kathy) Clark, George (Lena) Grice, all of Wheelersburg, Thomas (Michelle) Grice of Atlanta, GA; brother, Paul (Diane) Clark of Portsmouth; sister, Mary (David) McQuay of Wheelersburg; twelve grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jonathan Clark; first wife, Darlene Clark; daughter, Christy Grice; great-grandchild, Hayden Vaughters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 2, 2017 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor Mark Price officiating. Interment will follow at Clark Family Cemetery in Wheelersburg. Friends may call on Sunday, from 4 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before the service on Monday.
