Albert Derrick Smith

Age 50, of Wheelersburg, passed away June 17, 2020 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth.  He was born July 25, 1969 in Portsmouth to Albert D. and Mary (Reeder) Smith.  Albert, or Derrick as his friends called him, worked as an electrician in the construction industry.  In his free time he enjoyed building and racing cars and riding motorcycles.  He liked crafts, traveling the back roads, and fishing.

Derrick is survived by his life partner for the past 14 years, Cynthia Weaver; step-father, Charlie Freehill of Scioto Furnace; daughters, Autumn (Scott) Perkins of Jackson, Audria Smith (Robert Filius) of Huntington, WV, Alexis Smith of Scioto Furnace, Kayla Lore of Portsmouth, April Collier of South Webster; stepdaughter, Samantha Gamble of South Webster; stepson, Paul Gamble; brothers, Dean Smith of South Webster, Daren Smith of South Webster, Kevin Johnson of Portsmouth; ten grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his parents.
