Alice Joanne Waddell Parker, 85, of Portsmouth passed away Sunday February 11, 2024 at home. She was born February 24,1938 in Greenup County, KY, a daughter of the late Noah and Mary Fox Waddell.

She was a longtime nurse who loved her flowers, gardening, bird watching and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Alice is survived by her son, Stephen Parker and wife Judy Kay; a sister, Frances Madden of Myrtle Beach, SC; 2 grandchildren, Jill Parker and Zach (Kari) Parker; 7 great-grandchildren, Kaylyn, Rowen, Case, Paige, Mason, Sadie and Charlotte. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ronald R. Parker.   In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to SOMC Hospice, 2201 25th Street, Portsmouth, OH   45662.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Thursday February 15, 2024 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with entombment to follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be 12 Noon to 1:00 PM with honors presented by Nurse Honor Guard of the River Cities prior to the funeral.
