Alicia Dawn Barnes, 30, of Portsmouth, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, June 4, 2011 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She was born July 23, 1980 in Portsmouth to Bruce and Deena (King) King and was a 1998 graduate of East High School. Alicia was a loving mother, daughter, sister, wife, and friend. She will be forever loved and missed by all. In addition to her parents Bruce and Deena King and Gary and Jeanette Boggs, Alicia is survived by husband Arthur Barnes; three sons, Cainen Spencer, Elijah Spencer, A.J. Barnes; stepchildren Tyarra, Shylee, and Jamel Barnes; sisters Amber (Lance) Richardson, Candy Boggs; niece Aziah Richardson; nephews Darray Richardson, Timothy King; best friend Rachel Stiltner; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by grandparents Richard and Donna King, Garrett and Eileen King, Virgil and Cora Boggs, and brother Bruce W. King. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Danny Swords officiating. Interment will be in Haverhill Cemetery.
