Ann Denise (Miller) Skinner, 61 of Wheelersburg, passed away Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at SOMC Emergency Room. She was born October 30, 1953 in Portsmouth, the daughter of Pearl "June" Miller, Jr. and Sarah M. "Teen" Miller. Ann was a 1971 graduate of South Webster High School. In addition to her mother Sara, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Dwight Lee Miller and Richard "Rick" Neil Miller and her grandparents, Pearl and Bessie Miller and Edgar and Charlotte Jones.
Ann is survived by her loving father, Pearl; two sisters, Patti Miller and Peggy Miller all of Wheelersburg. She is also survived by her beloved children, who loved her dearly. Two sons, Tommy Wilburn, who was her "Rock and Soul" and Jason (Jennifer) Murta; one daughter, Robyn Cottrill, both of Chillicothe; two stepdaughters, Heidi Kelley Miller and Tiffany Kelley both of Lancaster.
She was a loving grandma to Storm Cottrill, Logan Cottrill, Savannah Vanhoose, Landon Vanhoose, Cindellynn Murta, Garrett Murta, Jaylen Murta and a great grand baby, Keelan Sherwood. She also loved her grand dog "Mr. Sister".
Ann was also survived by several nieces and nephews, cousins and a sister-in-law, Karen Miller of Wheelersburg. She also had special friends at Concord, where she had spent the last couple of years in the Vent Unit and a special friend like a sister to her, Diane Phillips of Wheelersburg.
She was a big Ohio State Buckeye fan, she loved to collect pigs, play bingo and loved life. We will all miss her dearly. Our family would like to thank Dr. Saab's office, SOMC, SOMC Hospice, and Concord Health and Rehab for all of the love, prayers and support, and great care for our loved one during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, August 31, 2015 at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastors Chris Oiler and Jim Weaver officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
