Age 87 of South Webster passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 and is resting peacefully now with the Lord above and his loving wife of 65 years, Barbara.  He was born November 11, 1929 in South Webster to the late Luther and Helen (Kaltenbach) Shumate.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara; one granddaughter, Sarah E. Shaw.

Bucky served in the United States Air Force from 1950-53 and was stationed in London, England.  He was the elected Mayor of the Village of Frankfort, OH in 1962, taught school in Ross County for 32 years, and served as Ross County Superintendent during that time.

He is survived by one daughter, Susan B. Shaw of South Webster; one son, John M. (Susan) Shumate of Circleville; three grandchildren, Caitlin (Ryan) Hoffman, Brandon (Shannon) DePouw, and Cassidy; three great-grandchildren, Hailey L. Steele, Sydney, and Mason.
