Barbara Kay Lindamood, 72, of Portsmouth, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Barbara was born on January 25, 1954, in Portsmouth, Ohio, to the late Edmond F. Robbins and Anna (Manning) Robbins. Her life was grounded in two things she held especially dear: her family and her faith in Jesus Christ.

Barbara had a heart for helping others, particularly families experiencing times of stress or hardship and children facing difficulties. Her compassion led her to a career in Human Services in Portsmouth, where she served as a supervisor and dedicated herself to helping those in need.

Her faith was an important part of her life. Barbara was a Sunday School teacher and was formerly a member of the New Boston Church of the Nazarene. She found great joy in serving others and sharing her faith with those around her.

Barbara also had a love for the theater. In her younger years, she was a local actress and performed at the Portsmouth Theater. Her outgoing personality and natural warmth made her a memorable presence both on stage and in the lives of those who knew her.

Barbara will be lovingly remembered for her big, infectious smile, her generous heart, and the genuine kindness she showed to others. She had a special way of making people feel welcomed, cared for, and loved. Above all, she cherished her family and the time she spent with them.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Raymond Lindamood of Portsmouth; her sons, Michael (Heather) Lindamood of South Webster, Brandon (Mariea) Lindamood of Wheelersburg, Bobby Lindamood of Seattle, and David Lindamood of Seattle; and her daughters, Krista (Randy) Swords of Columbus, Linda Martinez of Seattle, WA, and Theresa Lindamood of Seattle, WA.

She is also survived by her sisters, Iva Lindamood of Portsmouth and Mable Lou Hammons of South Webster; her grandchildren, Kalena, Kaylee, Audriana, Chasaty, Brayden, Bayleigh, William, John, Noah, Simone, Nicolas, Justine and Chino; and her great-grandchildren, Mila, Alaynee, Parker, Lucian, and Lakelyn, along with many other family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her son, Raymond “Jr.” Lindamood; her sister, Shirley Robbins; her brother, Charles Frederick Robbins; and her infant sister, Coleen Robbins.

Barbara leaves behind a legacy of faith, compassion, laughter, and love. Her caring spirit touched countless lives, and her smile will remain a cherished memory for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in the love she gave so freely and in the faith that meant so much to her throughout her life.

Funeral Service will be Saturday, September 26, 2026, 6:00 PM, D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Wheelersburg, Mike Lanning Officiating. Visitation begins at 4:00 PM until the service time.
