Age 81 of Portsmouth passed away Wednesday June 15, 2016 at SOMC Hospice. She was born on July 1, 1934 in Scioto County, a daughter of the late Monroe and Nellie Scott Clark. She formerly attended Bonser Run Christian Baptist Church and worked as a Central Sterile Tech at Southern Ohio Medical Center.

Betty is survived by three daughters, Cheryl Adkins and Pamela (Gregory) Shonkwiler, both of Portsmouth, and Mary Beth (Ashley) McGlone of Reynoldsburg; one brother, Paul "Butch" Clark and wife Faye of Dearfield, MI; three sisters, Bonnie Ervin  and Mae Slusher of Portsmouth, and Shirley Henry of New Boston; four grandchildren, Andrew (Faith Taulbee) Shonkwiler, Arrika (Daniel) Shonkwiler-Mains, Levi McGlone, and Noah McGlone; and one great-grandchild, Gunnar Boone Shonkwiler. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Adkins; a grandson, Owen McGlone; four brothers, Donald, Robert, William, and George Clark.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday June 20, 2016 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Darrell Musick officiating. Interment will follow at Old Wheelersburg Cemetery.
