Betty Catherine Howell

Age 94, of Franklin Furnace, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 25, 2020 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born January 16, 1926 in Portsmouth to Edwin and Margaret (Adams) Hill. A 1945 graduate of Chillicothe High School, Betty married her husband, Robert, and together they raised a family. She loved to read, had a green thumb, loved growing roses, and attended Union Free Will Baptist Church. Betty never had a bad word to say about anyone.

She is survived by her sons, Michael Howell of Salem, VA, Paul (Joyce) Howell of Cold Water, Ohio, Mark Howell of Lewistown, MT, John (Nancy) Howell of Franklin Furnace, Bobby (Mary) Howell of Mesa, AZ; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Robert, who passed away in 1989, she was preceded in death by three children, Diane McCain, David Howell, Cathy Howell; grandchildren, Sara Howell and Megan McCain; one brother; two sisters.

Funeral services for Betty will be 12:00 noon Saturday, March 7, 2020 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor George Grice officiating.
