Age 83, of Wheelersburg, passed away on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at his home. He was born in Wheelwright, KY on October 21, 1930 to Hobert and Naolia (Felty) Litz. He was a 1950 graduate of Wheelersburg High School and served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. Billy was an elder in the First Church of Christ in Wheelersburg where he was a founding member. He retired from Empire Detroit Steel Company.
Billy is survived by his wife, Joan (Pieratt) Litz; three sons, Billy (Benita) of Portsmouth, Steve (Jonne) of VA, and Sam of VA; one daughter, Suzy Adams (Ted) of Wheelersburg; special niece, Evette Fields (Tim) of Lancaster, OH; nine grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Betty Sergent of Phoenix, AZ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 at First Church of Christ in Wheelersburg with Minister Hoyt Allen officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call Friday from 4 - 7 p.m. at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville or one hour before the service at the church on Saturday. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials be given to First Church of Christ in Wheelersburg. Online condolences may be left at www.WolfeNelsonFuneralHome.com.
