Brian Keith Cogar, 68, passed away on September 23, 2025, at Grant Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio. Born on November 30, 1956, in Akron, Ohio, he was the beloved son of Robert and Martha (Martin) Cogar.

Brian was a man of many talents and interests. He had a deep love for music and was an avid sports fan, particularly of the Cleveland Browns and Indians. Known for his handyman skills, Brian could challenge and work on just about anything.

He is survived by his two sons, Robert Cogar and Brian (Sierrah) Cogar, as well as Justin Tanner and Marcus Cogar, who were both like sons to him. He also leaves behind two brothers, Jim (Peggy) Cogar and Bob Cogar, and a sister, Mary Markley. Brian was a proud grandfather to Lacy and Brianna and a great-grandfather to three great-grandchildren.

Brian was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Cheryl Cogar.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster.
