Carol Ruth (Dheel) Reiter, 83 of Wheelersburg, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at the Select Specialty Hospital in Columbus. She was born, July 26, 1932 in Wheelersburg, the daughter of the late Henry Edward and Bertha Belle Ruth Dheel. Carol was also preceded in death by 2 husbands, Norman F. Reiter, whom she married on August 1, 1953 and David S. "Bud" Gray, whom she married on April 25, 1998 and one daughter, Terri Reiter. Carol was a 1950 graduate of Wheelersburg High School, a life member of the Wheelersburg United Methodist Church, a Secretary/Treasurer for 34 years of the Brock Funeral Homes in both Portsmouth and Wheelersburg and was also on the reunion committee for the U.S.S. Rapidan.

Carol is survived by a son, Tim Reiter of Chillicothe; 2 daughters, Trish (Pete) Shaffer of West Portsmouth and Tammi Easterday of Tehachapi, CA; 6 grandchildren, Joseph Gebhardt, Jillian Simpson, Janis Reiter, Carolyn Reiter, Jerica Gebhardt, Christina Reiter; 7 great grandchildren and a son-in-law Ron Gebhardt of Chillicothe.

A Celebration of Carol's life will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, February 29, 2016 at the Swick-Bussa-Chamberlin Funeral Home in Wheelersburg, with Pastors Pete Shaffer and Dan Widdig officiating. Interment will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. The family will receive friends from 3-7 p.m. on Sunday and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Wheelersburg United Methodist Church at PO Box 190, Wheelersburg, Ohio 45694 in Carol's name.
