Age 56 of Lucasville, passed away on January 5, 2016 at OSU in Columbus. She was born in Portsmouth on February 4, 1959 to Earl and Virgie (Mullins) Evans. She was a homemaker and of the Pentecostal faith. Carol enjoyed gardening, but most of all loved to spend time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by six sons, James Burchett of Lucasville, Russell Newman (Brittany) of Chillicothe, Harlon Burchett (Melissa) of Portsmouth, Allen Newman (Laura) of Russell, KY, Michael Burchett (Bobbie Jo) of Lucasville, Josh Newman (Cara) of McArthur; three brothers, Earl Evans of Wheelersburg, Rodney Evans (Pam) of Jackson, Charlie Evans (Della) of Wheelersburg; ten grandchildren, David, Ayden, Austin, Skyler, Madison, Landon, Ben, Jordan, Jaden, Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, James Burchett and Cecil Newman.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor John Baker officiating. Interment will follow at Beaver Union Cemetery. Friends may call Friday from 5 - 7 p.m. at the funeral home or one hour before the service on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the family are preferred.
