Age 89 of Wheelersburg, passed away on January 2, 2016 at SOMC Hospital in Portsmouth.  She was born on October 10, 1926 in South Webster to Earl and Margaret (Russ) Kuhner.  She was a 1945 graduate of South Webster High School and on June 10, 1951 she married Carl Bauer in South Webster to whom she was married until his death in 1977.  Carole worked for Empire Detroit Steel until the birth of her children when she became a full-time homemaker.  She was a longtime member of the Christ United Methodist Church of South Webster.

Carole is survived by one son, Danny (Cindy) Bauer of Wheelersburg; one daughter, Donita (Tim) Grashel of Wheelersburg; four grandchildren, Chad and Ryan Grashel, Liz Reeck, Emily Cook; three great-grandchildren, Ansley, Casen, Saylor.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl; three brothers, Daniel, Frank, and Ray Kuhner; one sister, Thelma Kanouse.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Sam Peters officiating.  Interment will follow at Sunset Gardens in Franklin Furnace.  Friends may call on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 5 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home or one hour before the service on Tuesday.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Christ United Methodist Church of South Webster.  Online condolences may be left at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
