Carolyn Louann
(Brown) Blackburn
August 29, 1943 – March 27, 2013
Age 69, of Palm Harbor, Florida, formerly of Portsmouth, Ohio, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 27th at Brookside Hospice House with her family by her side.
She was born to Myrtle Brown and the late Richard A. Brown, on August 29, 1943 in West Portsmouth, Ohio. Carolyn attended West Portsmouth High school and later received a BS in Business from Shawnee State University. She married Thomas L. Blackburn in 1963, and later she moved to Palm Harbor, FL in 2001. Carolyn was a devoted homemaker and mother for 25 years. After receiving her college degree, she managed Eastend Building Supply for 7 years and worked as a librarian at Wheelersburg, OH library. She then managed Great Florida Insurance for 10 years. Carolyn was a member of Berean Baptist Church in Sciotoville, Ohio for 25 years, where she faithfully taught a beginner Sunday school class. She then changed her membership to Clearwater Community Church in Florida. Her sweet spirit and smile will be missed by everyone who loved her.
Carolyn is survived by three children: Jeff Blackburn and wife Ann of Lucasville, Ohio; Susan Murray and husband Scott of Hiroshima, Japan; and LeAnne Webb and husband Patrick of West Portsmouth, Ohio. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren; Jeremy Blackburn, Kara Redoutey, Andrea and Ashley Webb; Sydney, Taylor, Alyssa, Morgan, and Madison Murray; Kariah and Trevin Humston. She is also survived by two new great-grandchildren: Jackson Blackburn and Tatum Redoutey.
A memorial service for family and friends will be held Saturday, March 30th at Clearwater Community Church in Florida, with son-in-law Scott Murray officiating. Burial will be in Ohio at Sunset Gardens Cemetery with Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville handling the arrangements.
