Carolyn K. Helfenstine, 69 of Blue Creek, died Tuesday, June 16, 2015 at her residence. She was born, September 13, 1945 in West Virginia to the late Louis Gertrude Nowell Reece. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Howard Edward Helfenstine. She had worked for H. T. Collins Company and was a homemaker, mother, and caretaker for her two sons.

Carolyn is survived by 3 sons, Anthony Joseph (Jennifer) Helfenstine of Cincinnati, Vince Edward Helfenstine and Mark Anthony Helfenstine both of Blue Creek; 3 brothers, Nick and Wayne Vasquez of West Union and Rodney Reece; 3 sisters, Mona (Vince) Marquez of New Mexico, Teresa Baker of Alabama and Sharon (Kenneth) Parm of Blue Creek; 3 grandchildren, Tyler and Nick Pollitt, Kendra Helfenstine all of Cincinnati and 2 special nieces, whom she raised, Teri L. Courtney of Ft. Mitchell, KY and Bobbi L. Richard of Wheelersburg.

A funeral service will be held at Noon, Saturday, June 20, 2015, at the Gospel Lighthouse Chapel in Blue Creek with Pastor Mike Bender officiating. The family will receive friends from 10 until the funeral hour at the church. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.swickbussachamberlin.com .
