Chad "Cowboy" Messer, 47, of Portsmouth passed away November 13, 2022. He was born July 8, 1975 in Portsmouth, a son of Cindy (Burns) Messer of Franklin Furnace and the late Charles Messer II. He was a 1993 graduate of Green High School. He loved horses, all kind of music, playing the guitar and reading his Bible. He loved his family very much, and enjoyed helping and taking care of other people.
Besides his mother, Chad is survived by his sister, Amanda Messer-Blevins of Wheelersburg; a niece Allison Blevins and great niece, Emillia Lepore.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Friday November 18, 2022 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN WHEELERSBURG with Pastor Andy Ramey officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park. Visitation will be Friday from 12 Noon to 1 PM at the funeral home.
