Charles "Poopaw" Witt, 83, of Minford passed away Sunday December 26, 2021 at his residence. He was born December 10, 1938 in Latrobe, PA a son of the late James and Mary (McKever) Witt. He was of the Protestant Faith, a former U.S. Navy Veteran and a graduate of Shawnee State University. He was a Jack of All Trades, enjoyed farming, gardening and fishing. But most of all he loved spending time with his family going to ballgames, dirt track racing and barrel racing.
He is survived by his wife, Carol (Kastel) Witt; a son, Aaron Witt and wife Cathy of Bartlesville, OK; a daughter, Peggy Witter and husband Brian of Lucasville; grandchildren, Lexi and Jacob; great-grandson, Zander; Nephews and niece, Mark, Jim, David and Jennifer.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carolyn Gorman.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Thursday December 30, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston with Pastor Jeffrey Smith officiating. Military Honors will be provided at the funeral home by James Irwin Post 622 and William Baker Post 363 of the American Legion.
Visitation will be Wednesday 5 to 7 PM and one hour prior to services on Thursday at the funeral home.
