Clayton Ray Craft, 75 of Rosemount, died Monday May 2, 2013 at his residence. He was born Dec. 8, 1937 in Portsmouth, a son of the late James and Anna Ratliff Craft. Clayton was a longtime member of North Moreland Christian Baptist Church where he was a board member, janitor, Sunday School teacher, Grandpa to the younger children and Jack-of-all trades. He was a former meatcutter at Schaffer's Market and Foodland and member of Laborers Local 83. He is survived by his wife, Evelyn Meek Craft; 3 sons, Jeff (Crystal) Craft, Greg (Tomi) Craft and Terry Craft all of Portsmouth; step children, Charlotte Varney of Portsmouth, Jim (Destiny) Smith of Wheelersburg and Angie (Brody) Haney of West Portsmouth; a twin brother, James Clay (Shorty) Craft of Minford and Jerry (Linda) Craft of Pataskala, Tim Craft of Nashport and Bob (Juliet) Craft of Minford; 2 sisters, Barbara Hines of Trenton, GA. and Betty (Bob) Ross of Ashland, OH; 5 grandchildren, Keely Craft, Quintessia Craft, Megan Varney, Hanna Smith and Collin Haney and numerous nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Audrey (Abbott) Craft, 2 sisters, Patricia Arnold and Arlene Ward and a granddaughter, Alicia Craft. Services will be 1:00 PM Monday May 6, 2013 at North Moreland Christian Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Hagen officiating. Interment will follow at Beechfork cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday 5 to 8 PM and Monday 12 to 1 PM at the church. Arrangements being handled by D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in New Boston. Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.com.
