Connie Joyce (Hall) Sargent, of South Webster passed away suddenly after a brief illness on October 25, 2015 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth, surrounded by her family. She was born September 7, in Ironton to Elder George and Mary (Riley) Hall. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. Connie was a friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She enjoyed camping, dancing, time at the beach, and spending time with her family. Connie took great pride in serving her community as an insurance agent. She opened her own business in 2008, the South Webster Insurance Agency.
Connie is survived by her high school sweetheart and husband, Larry Sargent, whom she married shortly after graduation from South Webster High School; a devoted daughter, Lari Tonya Mershon (Michael); and four adorable grandchildren, Sadie, Sophie, Greyson, and Lydia Mershon, all of South Webster. They were her pride and joy. She is also survived by three brothers, Terry Hall (Bonnie), Roger Hall (Nancy), both of South Webster, and Gary Hall (Carla) of New Boston; four sisters, Dianne Hall Coriell and Carol Tackett (David) of Wheelersburg, Janey Hollback (Gary) and Rita Craft (Lonnie) of South Webster. She also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by an infant sister, Roselyn; a nephew, Rodney Shane Hughes; and a sister-in-law, Sue Allen Hall.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 29, 2015 at D.W. Swick-Nelson Funeral Home in South Webster with Pastor Ryan Hagen officiating. Interment will follow in South Webster Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
