Obituary

Cynthia Louise Bennett, 64, of Portsmouth, passed away Friday September 3, 2021 at SOMC Hospice Center from complications of Covid. She was born March 15, 1957 in Portsmouth a daughter of the late James and Mary (Smith) Mullen.


She attended Union Freewill Baptist Church, was a 1976 graduate of South Webster High School, a nurses aid, enjoyed reading her Bible, listening to Christian music and going bowling.


Cynthia is survived by her sons, Thomas Bennett II and wife Melisha and Andrew Bennett all of Wheelersburg; three brothers, James (Jill) Mullen of Harpersfield, NY, Brian Mullen of West Portsmouth and Lonny Mullen of Wheelersburg; four sisters, Carol Deaterla of West Portsmouth, Roxanne (Eddie) Cooley of New Boston, Jamie Rivera of Lake Mary, FL and Mary Margaret (Steve) Leadingham of Lucasville; grandchildren, Georgia and Kasey.


Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday September 8, 2021 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Evangelist Thomas Bennett officiating.   Interment to follow at Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday from 12 to 1 PM at the funeral home. Face coverings will be required.
