Darrell Lee Detty, 72, of Wheelersburg, passed away Saturday July 8, 2023 in Columbus. He was born August 2, 1950 in Wellston, a son of the late Carl Miller and Doris Detty King. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

Darrell is survived by his wife, Glinda Creech Detty; three sons, Darrell "Pete" Detty Jr. of Wellston, Tim Phipps of Apple Creek and Delbert (Letha) Detty of Portsmouth; three daughters, Krista Fath of MD, Karie Detty of Ulmer, SC and Pamela Creech of Grove City; three brothers, Delbert (Barb) Jones and Jack Cash of Wellston and Randy (Barb) King of Colton; four sisters, Debbie (Buck) Speakman, Jane (Roger) Rader, Donna Kelly and Terri Wilber all of Wellston; 12 grandchildren, one great-grandchild.

Beside his parents he was also preceded in death by his stepfather, Don King, a brother Albert Detty and a sister, Jewell Gill and a lifelong friend, Mike Leighty.

Funeral Services will be 7:00 PM Friday July 14, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville with Military Honors provided by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be 6 to 7 PM prior to services on Friday.
