Age 78 of South Webster passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at SOMC Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born March 27, 1938 in South Webster a son of the late Lewis and Mildred Triggs Crabtree. David was a US Army Veteran, an avid bird watcher, loved to fish, travel, and spend time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Crabtree; a son, David (Judy) Crabtree of Richmond, VT; two daughters, Lisa (Garland) Roof and Kimberly (Brian) Bradley, both of Wheelersburg; three brothers, Donald (Lela) Crabtree of Grove City, Raymond (Ima) Crabtree of Berea, KY, and Ronald (Valencia) Crabtree of Tavaris, FL; two sisters, Tina (Logan) Shope of South Webster and Gloria (Darrell) Howard of Oak Hill; six grandchildren, Hali, Katie, Kasey, Luke, Brock and Gabe. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Estep.

Services will be 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2016 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Peter Michael officiating.  Interment will follow at South Webster Cemetery with military honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Friday 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday 12 to 1 at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to SOMC Hospice Center.
