David F. Holbrook II, age 67, of Sciotoville died March 27, 2010 at SOMC. He was born December 5, 1942 in Portsmouth to David and Gertrude (Smith) Holbrook. David loved fishing, camping, and building things. He opened Dave's shoe repair in New Boston where his wife Drema still operates the business. He loved his wife, family, and customers. He will be missed for his wicked sense of humor and never ending love for his family. He is survived by his wife Drema; one son David Holbrook III (Faila) of Blythe, CA; one daughter, Kimberley Hill (Harold) of Fredericksburg, VA; three step-children, Darrel Jackson, of Jackson, OH, Patricia Bowen (Rusty) of Jackson, Jason Burton (Regina) of Portsmouth; two sisters, Karen Peck (Norman) of Portsmouth, Thelma Scarberry of Portsmouth; six grandchildren, David Scott, Skylar, Chelsea, David IV, Ivy, Chris; three great grandchildren, Preston, Hannah, and Mason Scott; sister-in-law, Regina Hamm (Paul) of Wheelersburg; two brothers-in-law, Larry Wright of Portsmouth, Jack Wright of Jackson. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, William Scarberry. Funeral services will be at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 31, 2010 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville. Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville is handling the arrangements.
