Age 73, of Lexington, OH, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2014 at his home. He was born in Portsmouth on February 16, 1941 to Harold and Leola (Eulett) Robbins. A 1960 graduate of Portsmouth High School, he spent time in the U.S. Army and two years at North Central State College in Mansfield where he relocated in 1980. Professionally he worked as a Systems Analyst for A.K. Steel, retiring in 1999 after 31 years. David enjoyed gardening, R.V. traveling, and dabbling in the stock market. He attended Diamond Hills Baptist Church in Mansfield.
He is survived by his wife, Sharon; two sons, Leslie Robbins (Kelli) of Lexington, Brian Robbins (Kate) of Medina; three grandchildren, David Robbins (Shelbie), Isaac Robbins, Megan Robbins; one brother, John Robbins (Sheila) of West Portsmouth. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Danny Robbins.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, May 5, 2014 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Christopher Thomas officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call one hour prior to the service. Military honors will be provided by James Dickey American Legion Post #23.
