Della Ashley Saunders, 87, of South Webster passed away Wed. Dec. 22, 2010 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born July 25, 1923 in Wheelersburg a daughter of the late Ora and Eva Johnson Ashley. Della is survived by two sons, Joseph "Doug" (Janie) Saunders and Marvin Saunders; five daughters, Norma Fachs, Wanda Czechlewski, Mary Howard, Anna (David) Summers and Teresa Schumacher. 11 grandchildren, Robert Czechlewski, Scott Czechlewski, Michael Saunders (whom she raised), Jason Saunders, Ashley Saunders, Chad Summers, Anneliese Dummitt, Matthew Howard, Melissa Brothers, Aaron Schumacher and Kerstin Schumacher; 21 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and special friends, Raymond Monroe and Edward Patsch. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph (Jack) Saunders; sons-in-law, George Czechlewski, William Fuchs and Nelson Schumacher; brothers, Russell (Hila) Ashley, Ralph (Evelyn) Ashley, Roy Ashley and Cecil (Terri) Ashley; sisters, Jesse (Harold) French, Ada (Estel) Smith, Irene Pendleton Gaubatz and Clara (Walter) Rawlins. Services will be 1 PM Wed., Dec. 29, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster with Pastor Patrick L. Gampp officiating. Burial will be at South Webster cemetery.
