Donald Eugene Nelson, 88, of Oak Hill formerly of Regrish Addition passed away Wednesday January 19, 2022. He was born March 12, 1933 in Greenup Co, KY a son of the late Edward and Mary (Penix) Nelson.

He was a 1950 graduate of Valley High School. He retired in 1993 from Standard-LaFarge Corporation after 41 years of service. He was a member of the Lucasville Masonic Lodge, was a Kentucky Colonel and enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and woodworking.

Donald is survived by a son, David and wife Ann Nelson of Oak Hill; a daughter, Susan (Dan) Brown of South Shore, KY; a step-son, Paul Whitt of Columbus; a step-daughter, Jayne Whitt of Sciotoville; 7 grandchildren, Kim (Steve) Finley, Chris Hutchinson, Maria (Henry) Bartels, Michael (Kelli) Nelson, Mark (Kendall) Nelson, Matthew Sparks and Becky Dodson, 1 step-grandson, Ian Whitt; 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great- grandchild.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Janet Lewis Nelson, a daughter Phyllis Nelson Sparks,  a brother, Edward Nelson and a sister, Garnet Ayers.

Private services will be held with interment to be at Memorial Burial Park under the direction of the D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe- Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville.
