Age 97, died September 4, 2010 at Hempstead Manor, Portsmouth. She was born on March 9, 1913 in Carter County, KY to Arthur and Stella (Zornes) Warnock. Doris married Dee Bear on February 12, 1936 until his death in 1974 and was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene in New Boston. She retired from the Senior Volunteer Program and Ohio Valley Senior Citizens where she volunteered her time from 1984 - 2003. Doris enjoyed attending church, going to the Cincinnati Reds games, travel, and more than anything enjoyed spending time with her family and doing things for others. Doris is survived by five children; two sons, Darrell Bear of New Boston, Terry (Nanci) Bear of Fairfax, VA; three daughters, Faye Cooper (Harold) of New Albany, OH, Fern Kidd (George) of Baltimore, MD, Freda Vogelsong (Tom) of Sciotoville; 11 grandchildren, Michele, Debbie, Brian, Dawn, Jesse Dee, Kevin, Keith, Bobby, Tamara, Tawnya, Traci; 17 great-grandchildren, Trayce, Brody, Whitney, Caitlin, Tate, Jake, Courtney, Lucas, Brannigan, Josh, Kalynn, Dominic, Natalie, Preston, Bradley, Zachary, Elijah; two sisters, Helen Haney of Grayson, KY, and Chloe Lewis of Miamisburg, OH; as well as her extended family at Hempstead Manor and her beloved cat, Rosie. In addition to her husband, Doris was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Debra Bear, and one brother, Scott Warnock. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8, 2010 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor James Patrick officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
