Dorothy L. Ashley, 89, of New Boston died Sat. Jan. 15, 2011 at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born June 2, 1921 in Greenup Co., KY., a daughter of the late Lee and Daisy Yates Williams. Dorothy is survived by 7 sons, Jack Jennings of Bentonville, Ark., Larry Jennings and Don Jennings both of Mansfield, Don Ashley, Dave Ashley, Gerald Ashley and Gaylen Ashley all of Wheelersburg; 4 daughters, Melody Hood of Portsmouth, Barbara Barnhart of Alexandria, OH., Faye Bennett of Sciotoville and Romona Penix of New Boston; 3 brothers, Leslie Williams, Gene Brown all of Mt. Sterling, OH. and Lawrence Brown of London, OH.; 2 sisters, Etta Johnson of Sandusky and Sibble McNabb of Dayton; several grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Bud Jennings, her second husband, Gaylen Ashley, 3 brothers, Leonard, Lee Williams and Alvis Williams; 3 sisters, Estella Bradley,Melvina Billett and Helen Cline. Services will be 2 PM Tues. Jan. 18, 2011 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Pastors Brian Baer and Gerald Penix officiating. Burial will be at Vernon cemetery.
