Age 80 of Sciotoville died Sunday, September 12, 2010 after a short illness at Kings Daughter's Medical Center in Ashland. A native of Charleston, W.V., she was born May 15, 1930 in Charleston to Donovan and Anna (Burchett) Duffield, but spent most of her life in Scioto County. She graduated from Middleport Ohio High School - class of 1948 and attended two years of business school in Portsmouth. She was a 4H leader and later became known as the "Toy Party Lady." Dotti was a mentor to young adults throughout her life. She was a member in high standing with the Southern Ohio Glacier Enthusiasts. Dotti was married to Lloyd "Sammy" Sampson on July 2, 1952 in Marietta. She enjoyed reading and watching Jeopardy. She had a broad knowledge of many things and enjoyed researching everything on the internet. Dorothy is survived by two sons, Duane (Diane) Sampson of Statesville, N.C., Scott (Paula) Sampson of Wheelersburg; two daughters, Marcia (Butch) Ivey of Chillicothe, Brenda Svetkovich (Bill) of Ann Arbor, MI; one brother Myron (June) Duffield of Coshocton; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sammy in 1992. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Old Wheelersburg Cemetery with Pastor Andy Ramey officiating.
