Earl Richard Evans Jr, 70, of Portsmouth, passed away Sunday April 30, 2023 at his residence. He was born May 14, 1952 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Charles Evans Sr. and Virgie Cleo (Mullins) Evans.

He was a former concrete finisher who enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Earl is survived by two sons, Earl R. Evans III and Charles Dallas Evans; four sisters, Lisa Steele Evans, April Louann Rushford, Wendy Cleo Evans Boxx and Larhonda Gayle Southern Hall; two brothers, Rodney Dallas Evans Sr. and Charles Robert Evans Sr.; 21 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a sister, Carol Sue Newman Evans.

Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday May 3, 2023 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville with private interment to follow. Visitation will be 1 to 2 PM prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home.
