Edgar Eugene Thompson, also known as Ed, Eddie, 74, of Sciotoville, passed away Monday February 3, 2025 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born January 3, 1951 in Portsmouth, a son of the late John Edgar and Mary Irene (McMeans) Thompson.

He retired as Plant Manager at Savory Foods in 2005 and had worked at various other places, including Midland Grocery Company, Orkin Pest Control and retired again from Walmart in 2022. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and video games.

Ed is survived by his wife of 46 years, Loria Thompson; three sons, Edgar E. Thompson II and wife Laura of Hazlehurst, GA, Jason E. Thompson of Sciotoville and Rickey A. Thompson and wife Samantha of Kenton, OH; a brother, John W. Thompson of Sciotoville; grandchildren, Gabriel, Andrew, Brian, Rickey, Nyah, Asa, Christian, Sarah and Jamie along with two nephews, John W. Thompson II and Michael Thompson. He is also survived by a special friend, Steve Wheeler.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM Thursday February 6, 2025 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville. Private graveside services will be Scioto Burial Park.
