Obituary

Age 77 of South Webster, went to be with the Lord January 27, 2017 at Pleasant Hill Manor in Piketon.  He was born October 26, 1939 in South Webster to John and Bertha (Elswick) Rawlins.  Elden was a member of the First Baptist Church in Oak Hill, was a cabinet maker, and enjoyed upholstery and sewing work.

He is survived by his wife, Althea; five sons, Donald (Lisa) of Stout, Mark (Diane) of El Paso, TX,  Anthony (Sheila) of South Webster, Joe (Missy) of Minford, Steven of South Webster; one daughter, Princess Raynard of South Webster; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren; one brother, Darrell Rawlins of South Webster; two sisters, Faithey Catty and Birdie Woods, both of Oak Hill; special friends, Donnie Raynard, Phillip Spence, Judy Brooks, and Ray Collier.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three sons, Ronald, Kenneth, Michael; a brother, Ralph; two sisters, Darlene Holbrooks and Marilyn Kay Rawlins.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 2, 2017 at D.W. SWICK-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in South Webster with Pastor Cline Rawlins officiating.  Interment will follow at South Webster Cemetery.  Friends may call one hour prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in Elden's name to First Baptist Church in Oak Hill.  Online condolences may be left at www.DWSwickNelsonFuneralHome.com.
