Elfie J. Meade, 59, of West Portsmouth, passed away Saturday October 5, 2024 at SOMC Hospice Center. She was born September 8, 1965 in Portsmouth, a daughter of the late Paul and Elizabeth Barton Holbrook.

She attended Shawnee State University, enjoys reading, sewing and crocheting. She loved being a grandmother and taking care of everyone.

Elfie is survived by her husband, Kernie Meade; a son, James Meade of New Boston; three daughters, Jaime (Eric) Rawlins of Chesapeake, Amy Garcia of McDermott and Racheal Meade of West Portsmouth; two brothers, Bill Craft of Portsmouth and Joe Craft of Augusta, WV; a sister Monica Craft of Washington, DC and 10 grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a brother Paul Holbrook and a grandson Eric Rawlins Jr.

Funeral Services will be 3:00 PM Friday October 11, 2024 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in South Webster. Interment will follow at Scioto Furnace Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 3 PM Friday at the funeral home.
