Age 72, of Wheelersburg passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2014 at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth. He was born on June 29, 1941 in Portsmouth to Willard and Audrey (McGuire) Richmond. On October 17, 1963 he married Ida Carson and eventually settled in Wheelersburg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and loved to spend time with his family and friends.

Elva is survived by two daughters, Linda Henderson (Rick) and Rita Buckley (Ron), both of Wheelersburg; twelve grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; three sisters, Joann Pennington (Doc) of Dayton, Hazel Shope of Dayton, and Norma Helton of Wheelersburg. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ida; one daughter, Shelley Haywood; one son, Doug McIntosh; one daughter-in-law, Ruth McIntosh; three brothers; three sisters; two brothers-in-law.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Rick Henderson officiating. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home and one hour before the service. Interment will follow at Vernon Cemetery in Wheelersburg.
