Elva Lloyd Williams, 77, of Franklin Furnace, passed away Wednesday May 7, 2025 at his residence. He was born June 9, 1947 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Lloyd and Gertrude (Hamn) Williams.
He was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in Viet Nam, was a 1965 graduate of Piketon High School and played on the only undefeated team at the school. He was a former Corrections Counselor, loved all football, Ohio State, Cincinnati Reds and University of Kentucky. He enjoyed westerns, wrestling, crime shows, word number games and was an avid Sudoku player.
Elva is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Lou Williams; two sons, Brian Williams and wife Pam of Franklin Furnace, Christopher Williams and wife Angela of Columbus; a daughter, Angela Hill and husband Maurice of Youngsville, NC; a sister, Martha Hamblin and husband Ed of Wellston; grandchildren, Hallie and Megan Williams and Sonny Nutter, brother in-law Dan Allen.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Sharon Allen, grandparents who raised him, Flem and Elizabeth Williams; aunt and uncle, Bill and Zelda Kegley, cousin, Bob Kegley and his beloved dog, Sandy.
Visitation will be 1 to 2 PM Sunday May 11, 2025 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME (Wolfe-Nelson Chapel) in Sciotoville followed by a funeral at 2 PM with Pastor Andy Ramey officiating. Interment will follow at Junior Furnace Cemetery with Military Graveside Honors provided by the U.S. Air Force Funeral Detail and James Dickey Post 23, American Legion .
