Elwood Williams, 94, of South Webster died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2011 at Best Care Nursing Center. He was born July 21, 1916 in Lewis Co., KY., a son of the late George W. Williams and Nellie Linkous Williams. He was retired from Harbinson Walker as a press operator, was a U.S. Army WW II veteran and member of South Webster Weslyn Church. Elwood is survived by one son, Raymond Monroe and fiencee Mary Howard of Wheelersburg; a brother, Everett (Martha) Williams of Franklin Furnace; two granddaughters, Vicki Larter and husband Rusty of South Webster and Lisa Monroe of Wheelersburg; 2 great grandchildren, J.D. Larter and Debbie (Eric) Oliver; 3 great great grandchildren, Hannah, Kyleigh and Derick; special friends, Diane Osborne, Kim Townsend, Brandy Zornes and Ted Smith and many other neices and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Leora Cook Williams whom he married on June 26, 1946, a brother, Virgil Williams and 2 sisters, Marjorie Call and Geneva Johnson. Services will be 2 PM Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in South Webster with Jerry Patterson and Paul Hagen officiating. Burial will be at South Webster cemetery with military honors by James Dickey Post 23, American Legion. Visitation will be Sunday 5 to 8 PM and Monday 1 to 2 PM at D.W. Swick in South Webster. The family request donations be made to South Webster Wesleyan Church, the Salvation Army or SOMC Hospice Center.Condolences to dwswickfuneralhome.
