Encle "J.R." Emerson Pollitt, 47, of Sciotoville passed away Thursday, August 26, 2021 at SOMC ER.  He was born on September 9, 1973 to Encle Emerson Pollitt Jr. and Penny (Barfield) Pollitt of Portsmouth.  J.R. was a 1992 graduate of Portsmouth High School.  After school he became a home health aide.  J.R. attended the International Church of Christ and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, J.R. is survived by two daughters, Hailey Logan and husband Jason of Sciotoville and Brittany Pollitt of Sciotoville; close friends, Lisa Rutherford and husband David of Portsmouth, Devia and Frank Donohue of West Portsmouth; four grandchildren, Jazmine Logan, Conner Logan, Raylynn Logan and Alexavier Neal.

Friends may call at the D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME "Wolfe – Nelson Chapel" Monday from 12:00 p.m. (noon) until 1:00 p.m. and the funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Chuck Holsinger officiating.  Interment will follow at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg.  Online condolences may be left at www.DWSwickFuneralHome.com.
