Epp "Butch" Troy Charles, 67, of Wheelersburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 25, 2026. Born on September 25, 1958, in Portsmouth, he was the son of the late Troy Victor Charles and Anna Louise Charles. Epp was a retired truck driver who dedicated many years of hard work to his profession.
He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, including mowing grass, working on cars, fishing, and watching western movies. He will be remembered for his strong work ethic and the love he had for his family.
Epp is survived by his loving wife, Linda (Murphy) Charles; his sons, Lonnie Maynard of West Virginia and Epp Charles, Jr. of Wheelersburg; his daughters, Misty (John) Murphy of Sciotoville, Trista (Shane) Campbell of Wheelersburg, Kristy (Joseph) Bentley of Sciotoville, and Sara (Donnie) Taylor of New Boston; his sisters, Cathy Charles of Scioto Furnace, Debbie Baker of New Boston, and Julie (Pat) Dixon of South Webster; 16 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Larry Charles, and his grandson, Bentlee Ledford.
Epp will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 28, 2026, 12:00- 1:00PM at D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in South Webster. Interment to follow at Scioto Furnace Cemetery.
