Age 81 of Sciotoville passed away on Friday, October 28, 2011 at Concord Health and Rehabilitation Center in Wheelersburg. He was born in Firebrick, KY on March 21, 1930 to Ernest and Clara (Ockerman) Cook and on May 28, 1952 he married his wife, Elizabeth Loop. Ernest was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Sciotoville. In addition to his wife, Ernest is survived by 3 sons, Thomas Cook (Mary) of Waverly, Troy Cook of Marion, Roy Cook (Vancella) of Marion; 5 daughters, Sandra Ford (Steve) Portsmouth, Teresa Walburn of Ironton, Terry Martin of Sciotoville, Penny Smith of Portsmouth, and Tina Kammer (Richard) of Sciotoville; one brother, Paul Cook of Columbus; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Ernest was preceded in death by two sisters, Ida Mae Cook and Betty Cook. Funeral services for Ernest Cook, Jr. will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31st at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Ralph D. Shaffer, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Arrangements are being handled by Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home.
