Age 86, of Portsmouth, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at SOMC Hospice in Portsmouth. She was born on July 3, 1928 in Portsmouth to Goebel and Leona (Heath) McCleese. She was a graduate of Wheelersburg High School and a longtime member of Mabert Road Christian Baptist Church. Eula loved to read, especially mystery and romance novels, and during her years at Heartland she was a member of the Red Hat Society.

Eula is survived by two sons, Roger Kratzenberg of Portsmouth, Tim Kratzenberg (Debbie) of Minford; one daughter, Jackie Preast (Larry) of Wheelersburg; one brother, Eugene McCleese of West Portsmouth; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John; one son, Stephen; one sister, Wilodean Hatch, and one brother in infancy, Michael David.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville with Pastor Dan Rowe officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace. Friends may call at the funeral home one hour before the service.
