Age 98 of Sciotoville, passed away May 10, 2017 at Heartland of Portsmouth. She was born June 18, 1918 in Scioto County to James and Capitola (Smith) Wheeler. Evelyn worked 25 years with Williams Shoe Factory and 10 years at Mercy Hospital. She enjoyed gardening and quilting.

She is survived by son, James (Lisa) Crawford of Minford; daughters, Gloria Walter of Ft. Myers, FL, Shirley Wright of Sciotoville; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three husbands, Chester Hutchinson in 1942, Harold Crawford in 1973, and John Sowards in 1996; two brothers, Edward and Jesse Wheeler.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 12, 2017 at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Franklin Furnace with Pastor Lisa Crawford officiating. Online condolences may be left at www.WolfeNelsonFuneralHome.com. Arrangements are being handled by WOLFE-NELSON FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville.
