Age 78, of Portsmouth, passed away on Monday, March 2, 2015 at Heartland of Portsmouth. She was born on August 31, 1936 in Portsmouth to Russell and Garnet (Dixon) Burke. Florence attended East High School in Sciotoville where she was a cheerleader. She was a talented painter and was of the Methodist faith.

She is survived by four nieces and nephews, Dave Reese (Diane) of McDermott, Cindy Hurley (Dave) of West Portsmouth, Linda Reese (Bri) of Pickerington, and Amy Firgau (Ed) of Orient; many great-nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Martha Reese, one brother, David Burke, and one half-brother, Eddie Trent.

Visitation will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at Wolfe-Nelson Funeral Home in Sciotoville. A procession will leave at 10:45 to Edgewood Abbey Mausoleum in Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg where a brief service will be held with Ralph Shaffer officiating. Interment will follow.
