Florene "Granny" Payton, 91, of North Moreland went home to be with her Lord and family on Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at the home of a daughter in Mansfield. She was born May 10, 1920 in New Boston to the late Zed and Sarah Kelly Wadkins. She was a homemaker and member of North Moreland Christian Baptist Church. She is survived by 5 daughters, Janet (Raymond) Stiles of South Webster, Betty (Delmas) Brafford of Minford, Jean (Douglas) Blackburn of Mansfield, Billie Jean (Bob) Comisford of Mansfield and Kathy Hall of Chillicothe; 13 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great granddaughter and many other friends and relatives. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Billie (Dave) Payton; 2 brothers, Carl and Bill Wadkins; 3 sisters, Jessie, Helen and Lee Alice; 2 grandchildren, Gregory Trent Blackburn and Carol Brigner and a great granddaughter, Jennifer Stiles. Services will be 11 AM Tues. Dec. 13, 2011 at North Moreland Christian Baptist Church with Pastor Paul Hagen officiating. Burial will be at Universal cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 6 to 8 PM and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Arrangements under the care of D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston.
