Franklin H. Schmidt III, 69, of Portsmouth, went to be with his Lord on Wednesday March 29, 2023 at his residence. He was born January 5, 1954 in Portsmouth, a son of the late Franklin and Margaret (White) Schmidt.

He attended Life Point Church where he loved serving his church as a parking lot attendant and waving the big white hand to welcome cars passing by. Frank was an avid Ohio State fan, enjoyed fishing, woodworking, hunting , remote control airplanes and most of all spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Frank is survived by his wife, Sandi (Nelson) Schmidt; a son, Bradley Daniels and wife Kendra of Orient; three daughters, Courtney Adkins and husband Chris of Portsmouth, Tiffany Reffitt and husband Jarrod of Sciotoville, Nikki Allen and husband Nathan of Hamilton; two sisters, Sandra Neal and husband Bob of Lucasville and Margaret Ann Lockhart of South Shore, KY; 5 grandchildren, Amber, Kirstyn, Landon, Conner and Madison.

Besides his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Jack Lockhart, Niece Missy Lockhart, mother-in-law, Beverly "Granny" Nelson and a special friend, Lowell Reed.

Funeral Services will be 1:00 PM Saturday April 1, 2023 at the D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME in Sciotoville with Pastor Ryan Hunt officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 11 AM to 1 PM prior to services on Saturday at the funeral home.
