Fred E. Aldridge, 81, of Scioto Furnace went to His Heavenly Home on Fri. Dec. 6, 2013 at SOMC Hospice Center. He was born Jan. 24, 1932 in St. Paul, KY. a son of the late Fredric and Elva Shepherd Aldridge. Fred was a former auto body repairman and a U.S. Army veteran having served in combat in the Korean War . He faithfully attended Scioto Furnace Pentecostal Church. Fred is survived by his wife, Mima Jean Bailey Aldridge whom he married on July 20, 1954 in South Webster; 2 sons, Richard (Tammie) Aldridge of Havelock, NC and Ronald (Romona) Aldridge of Sciotoville; 3 brothers, Paul Hammond, Bob Hammond and Tim McGlone all of South Webster; 4 sisters, Wanda Osborne of Wheelersburg, Ermalean Miller of Portsmouth, Christine Kuhn of McArthur and Linda Rawlins of South Webster. Grandchildren, Nick Aldridge, Michelle Aldridge, Andrea King and Larry Skaggs; 1 brother-in-law, Harley "Butch" Bailey and Kim of Rosemount and 2 sisters-in-law, Wanda Shoemaker of Reynoldsburg and Patricia Ward and Paul of Lucasville. He was also preceded in death by 2 brothers, Jerry McGlone and Raymond Hammond. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday Dec. 9, 2013 at D.W. SWICK FUNERAL HOME IN SOUTH WEBSTER. Interment will follow at Scioto Furnace cemetery with graveside military honors by James Dickey Post 23, American legion. Visitation will be Monday 12 noon to 2 PM at D.W. SWICK in South Webster.
