Obituary

Gary Delno Fultz, 84, of Lucasville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at Adena Reginal Medical Center in Chillicothe.

Gary was born October 26, 1941, in Lucasville, a son of the late Jacob and Delores (Erwin) Fultz. A lifelong resident of the area, Gary was a hardworking man who took pride in his work, his family, and the rural way of life he cherished.

For many years, Gary was the owner of Earl’s Auto Parts, where he built a business through dedication and hard work. Outside of his business, he found great enjoyment in farming, raising cattle and horses, and spending time outdoors hunting. His love for the land and the simple pleasures of country living was an important part of who he was. Gary was also a member of Waits Baptist Church.

Above all, Gary will be remembered for the life he built, the work of his hands, and the family and friends who were blessed to know him. His presence will be deeply missed by those who loved him, and his memory will live on through the many lives he touched.

Gary is survived by his loving wife, Susan; his son, James (Kathi) Hadinger of Wheelersburg; his daughters, Shannon (Ken) Copley of Newark and Jessica (Kenny) Kazee of South Portsmouth, Kentucky; his brother, Phillip Fultz of Wheelersburg; and his sister, Brenda (Ron) Lace of Florida. He also leaves behind four grandchildren, Nathan Hadinger, Kaylee (Zach) Elswick, Addison Hadinger and Lily Arthur, along with several nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Gary’s life was one of hard work, dedication, and love for the people and pursuits that mattered most to him. Though he will be greatly missed, the memories he leaves behind will remain in the hearts of his family and friends for years to come.

Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 31, 2026, at Wait's Missionary Baptist Church, 1889 OH- 140, Portsmouth, Ohio 45662, at 11:00 AM, with Brent Saxton and Jim Hadinger officiating. Gathering of family and friends begins at 10:00 AM. Cremation Arrangements have been entrusted to D.W. Swick & Son Funeral and Cremation Services in Wheelersburg.
