George Antonaros, 61, of Wheelersburg, passed away Friday, April 17, 2026, at Ohio State University Medical Center in Columbus.
Born October 31, 1964, in Portsmouth, he was the son of Aristidis “Aristos” Antonaros and Katherine (Hollback) Meenach, who survive.
George dedicated 28 years of service to his community as a law enforcement officer, serving with both the New Boston Police Department and the Scioto County Sheriff’s Office. Throughout his career, he was known for his integrity, strength, and unwavering commitment to protecting others.
Outside of his work, George found joy in the simple and meaningful moments of life. He enjoyed hunting, welding, and fabrication, often taking pride in working with his hands. He loved spending evenings around a bonfire, cooking out, and making memories with family and friends. George also had a special bond with his two cats, Macie and Havana, and could often be found happily playing fetch with them. Above all, he was a deeply protective man who cherished his loved ones and valued time spent together.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving wife, Tammy (May) Antonaros of Wheelersburg; his daughter, Tabitha Rose Antonaros of Wheelersburg; his brother, Michael (Danielle) Antonaros of Columbus and their children, Sara, Trenton and Kirstin; his sister, Rebecca (Brandon) Hutchinson of Sciotoville and their sons Caleb and Carson. He also leaves behind several aunts, uncles and cousins with whom he shared special relationships.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather and hunting buddy, Ray Meenach.
George will be remembered for his dedication to his community, his strong sense of duty, and the love and protection he gave so freely to those around him. His presence will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
