George "Junior" Howard, 69, of Portsmouth, died Sat. June 19, 2010 at Southern Ohio Medical Center. He was born May 30, 1941 in Paintsville, KY., a son of the late George and Carrie Adkins Howard. He was a member of Portsmouth Church of God and was a retired mechanic at Shawnee State Golf Course. He is survived by his wife, Patty Howard; 4 daughters, Polly Howard (Jamie Johnson), Carrie (James) Young and Patty Ann Howard (Tim Clark) all of Portsmouth and Julie Kleinman (Gary Whitt) of New Boston; 3 brothers, Harold Howard of Portsmouth and Richard and Ronnie Howard both of South Carolina; 3 sisters, Maxine McCleese of Portsmouth, Carol Seeley and Judy Sexton both of Wheelersburg; 17 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren; and a special dear friend, Richard Wolfson. He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Walters Howard, 3 sisters, Helen Grooms, Betty McGuire and Emma Shaw and a great grandchild. Services will be 1 PM Wed., June 23, 2010 at D.W. Swick Funeral Home in New Boston with Rev. Larry Hammond officiating. Burial will be at Greenlawn cemetery. Visitation will be Tues. 6 to 8 PM and Wed. 12 noon to 1 PM at D.W. Swick in New Boston.
