Gladys Lousie Powers, 76, of Sciotoville, died Friday, May 23, 2014 at St. Mary's Hospital in Huntington, WV. Gladys was born on November 11, 1937 in Portsmouth, the daughter of the late Jake and Gracie Horner Loop. S he was also preceded in death by her husband, Burch Wright; two sisters, Bertha and Bert Adams; three brothers, Virgil, Elmer, and Ernie Loop. Gladys was a member of the Worthington Church of God and had a passion for gospel music.

Gladys is survived by two daughters, Diane (Brad) Frankin of Garrison, KY and Sharon Wright of Sciotoville; one sister, Lucille Howard of Sciotoville; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life will be held 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, 2014 at the SWICK-BUSSA-CHAMBERLIN FUNERAL HOME in Wheelersburg with Pastor Bill Howell officiating. Internment will be at Memorial Burial Park in Wheelersburg. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5 until 8 p.m. Monday and one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.
